80's Prom

Friday was 93.1's first 80's Prom at The Valarium...and wow. It was definitely a sight! Hundreds of people squeezed into outfits they haven't worn in 25 years. Being only 27, I didn't go to an actual prom in the 80's, but I think I'd give up my shoe collection to have been able to dress like that and be considered normal. It was so much fun! The band we had was called Girlz Girlz Girlz and they covered all the hair band songs. Their pants were tighter than their own skin! My shoes for the occassion were totally rad! The most neon color of pink anyone has ever seen! I know there's a picture of them somewhere. When I find it, I'll post it. They looked cool, but my feet still hurt today! And that blue eyeshadow messed up my contacts like you don't even know.

However, it was for sure worth the pain because this was my last big event in Knoxville! I'm heading back to Milwaukee, Algonquin for "the good land", to do middays on 94.5 WKTI. Talk about a dream job! I wonder if my new boss will care if I wear the pink stilettos to work? So, the 80's Prom was bitter sweet. My last hurrah with my Knoxville friends. I'll never forget it.

We picked up some boxes from Walgreens today so I can start packing. By "we" I mean me and my boyfriend, Harley. He wore a tuxedo t-shirt to the 80's Prom. You gotta love him! There he is. That picture is from one of our drives through the Smoky Mountains. At any rate, the boxes are in the garage, still folded up. Maybe I'm in denial about moving back to Milwaukee because I'll have to leave Harley and our dog, Jetta, behind for awhile. It'll be weird not having a dog sleeping on my feet...especially when it's so cold there! I'm already turning Jetta into a Packers fan hehe.
I'll be posting updates on my move and last days in "KnoxVegas" as some people call it. There is a strip, but there are no casinos. This week I'm apartment hunting online and I need a place that accepts cats and dogs. I have a cat, too...his name's Napoleon. More on him later. To bed!
Mitch Hedberg joke of today's blog: "On a stop light, green means go and yellow means yield. But with a banana, it means just the opposite. Green means 'hold on'. Yellow means 'go ahead' and red means 'where the heck did you get that banana?'"
